Puerto Rican, born in New York around 1958 of last century, he wanted
to be a graphic artist and cartoonist ever since he was a child. A
Wednesday he discovered a treasure of colored pencils and papers,
which he use to steal from his grandfather.
He grew up in Puerto Rico (too much, he now weighs 280 pounds). Studied
at the Luchetti High School of Art in Santurce, PR. Later went on
to the School of Visual Arts of the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture.
Later on to the Massachusetts College of Arts in the city of Boston.
Has worked (a lot) in Puerto Rico as Art Director en several advertising
agencies and in newspapers, such as El Reportero (RIP), El Diario,
the weekly Claridad, and Diálogo, where directors have published
some scribbles he insists to call illustrations. In addition, he worked
at The Real Paper, Camperche workshop and the Peter Pérez Design
Studio (Boston, Massachusetts), in the newspaper El Tecolote, Tiempos
Magazine and La Raza Graphics Center (San Francisco, California).
His work has been exposed in Puerto Rico, Boston, San Francisco and
Germany at different graphic artists shows.
Currently he works as Creative Director in his own studio in a mountain
in the countryside of Puerto Rico. He designs programs of corporate
identity, publications, books, Web pages, and when he has no money,
ad campaigns.
Important Notes:
1. He now buys his own pencils and paper
2. He has two dogs (Yukiyú and Venus)
3. He likes red wine |
